Marquis responded to my email. It is ok to send this out only in English. Please check the note below for some corrections to spelling before sending it out to the OS List. Since the event is in English only, I do not see the need to have the announcement translated in French. I can publish a message on the RfFo blog and also send it to our members if you wish. Let me know if I can do anything else. Enjoy the weekend. I want to send out the following to OSI Canada to both report and encourage participation in planning. The event would certainly be in English. Does this need to be translated before it goes out? Timing is always an issue as I do not have the capability. Thanks for considering this. Larry Larry Peterson & Associates in Transformation Toronto, Ontario, Canada la...@spiritedorg.com 416.653.4829 http://www.spiritedorg.com <http://www.spiritedorg.com/> Leadership & Self-Organization: Learning from/in Open Space Dear OSI Canada Folks: I recently returned from the Cascades (near Seattle) and a gathering sponsored by the Centre for Ethical Leadership and Peggy Holman (among others). We explored leadership in a self-organizing world with Harrison Owen kicking off some discussions based on his new book, Wave Rider. Most conversations were then in Open Space. I learned from and spent time with some great people including some from Canada like Doug Marteinson (Furnie & Calgary), Gervase Bushe (Vancouver, Simon Fraser), Suzanne Daigle (Florida), Mary Ellen Sanajko (Burnaby), Diana Smith (Victoria, Royal Roads). For notes of the sessions go to www.selforganizingworld.net which is on the openspaceworld.org wiki site. (Click session notes). I got jazzed by exploring the notion of containers and self-organization and the tension between formal and emergent leadership in what happens during and after OST events. There were also a lot of folks exploring a variety of alternate leadership issues in what was seen as collapse full economy and world. Others pursued their deeply spiritual or highly political paths to leadership. The experienced reinforced my desire to be part of hosting a similar event in Toronto area. I had been in conversation with Harrison since before we both got ill. He is doing great and so am I. So, we have tentatively set November 11-14, 2009, for a conversation in Toronto area. (Thats the space he has left in his agenda.) So, I am looking to connect to others who want to play in setting it up, finding space, exploring options for the design (of course with much OST). There was previously some interest from some folks at a couple of business schools in Toronto, and there might be again. I will keep testing. I have already had interest expressed by some from Florida and B.C. Who else is interested and able? Contact me in the next week if you want to play!
