your univ wants to plan strategically.
Hmmm!
On a weekend, inbetween, at times when people are usually not at work.
This seems not to send a signal that the univ actually cares much about
strategic planning and is not really ready to invest in such esoteric
stuff.
Or, is it really the "univ" that wants such things?
Strategic planning is serious stuff and serious stuff (less so than fun
stuff, thats true) needs some really first class conditions (great food
is normal at os events), such as prime time, great facilities, a real
budget and some really serious planning (its about strategic planning,
after all) by a group mirroring in some way the organisation and its
surroundings that are involved with univ (students, for instance,
alumni, foundations supporting the univ, competing univs....just faculty
and staff is a pretty small and maybe even homogeneous segment of univ,
a situation in which the forces of selforganisation will not be enticed
to really unfold their full power).
As far as bribing is concerned, I would leave those details to the
planning group. If there are special, hard to get people or groups that
the planning group wants to have at the event they need to get an
invitation that they cant turn down.
