I'm with you - have friends there, both Haitian and other. Got in touch with 
the national office of my church, which is going to send out an alert about the 
best way to support efforts on Haiti's behalf. The Haitian Consulate and 
Organization of American States might be other sources. Who does John work for 
in Haiti? that organization may have initiatives on the table.
