We actually had plans to do a 4000+ OS. The site was to be the Kingdome (sports arena) in Seattle. Subject was to be education in the Northwest, which was (still is) a hot issue. We were rolling right along but they demolished the structure before we could pull it off. But it was fun thinking about. And I am not sure there really is an upward limit given the space and technical support. Very large groups can and do effectively self-organize on their own (surprise!) -- see Tahrir Square in Egypt. Remember the 5th Principle! "Wherever it happens is the right place." So why not an OS for 100,000? Why not indeed.
