You might want to look at Dr. Marshall Rosenberg's work in creating nonviolent communication. His seminal book is entitled NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION: A language of life. Marshall takes us back to the very act of speaking and listening, which is where everything begins. There is a Hindu proverb that also is very appropriate: "Nonviolence is the supreme law of life."
