Leaves more space to "be"... Tomorrow I will be facilitating Open Space at New York City Agile 2013. Sold out for over a month, 350 people. This is probably the least I have ever done and the happiest I have ever been. An event that has been taking place every year for 4 years. I feel the participation and support of my friends in Open Space: Tricia Chirumbole at the newsroom, and Jasmina Nikolic and Harold Shinsato as participants plus the greatest gang of Agile Folks and friends that one could imagine. I am bringing a few things as in a very few; the rest will be there I am told and together we will set up one hour before. I have not even seen the room but tonight as happy and calm as I have ever been, I feel so lucky to be opening this space.
The theme: "Start Connecting" comes with an an inviting question. "What does that mean for me? For Agile? With others? This past weekend Tricia and I did our Scrum Master training in New York, the only non technology people in the room. The learning was so aligned with Open Space confirming such incredible possibilities for self-organized execution and collaboration. I wonder now if life should not always be this way: one less thing to do leaves room for all to do a little bit leaving big beautiful spaces for us to be together which is how I felt tonight at the reception dinner. Whether chaos, conflict or peace, is there more to do? Would it make any difference? Reflections walking the streets of New York tonight on this beautiful starry night. Suzanne
