Friends.

I’d like to invite you to join Caitlin Frost, Tuesday Ryan-Hart and Tim Merry
and I on Bowen Island, BC for Art of Hosting Beyond the Basics an intensive
three day deep dive into the application of participatory methodologies to
sustained systemic work with teams, organizations and communities. We are
gathering from September 21-24

Rooted in the Art of Hosting, Beyond the Basics focuses on working with core
teams, engaging power and influence, deep personal work to extend hosting
practice and participatory leadership to large scale change initiatives.

Beyond hosting meetings with participatory process like Open Space Technology,
World Cafe and Circle, we look at how to use participatory leadership in
community engagement, systemic change and large scale initiatives. The members
of our hosting team have been working with these methods over a number of years
in sectors as diverse as social services, health care, child welfare, real
estate development, social innovation, indigenous community development, youth
work, community planning and faith communities. We explore and share
approaches of working with core teams over time to sustain the powerful results
of participatory engagement.

Our September event builds on two events we hosted this spring, in Columbus OH
and Mahone Bay NS From September 21-24 we will be gathering on beautiful
Bowen Island, near Vancouver British Columbia. We would love to have
practitioners from our communities of practice join us for this offering as we
continue to explore and share ways in which hosting practice can deeply shift
systems.

For more information, please visit our website where you will find reflections,
notes and videos from previous events. To register, visit our BC event
registration page.

We look forward to seeing you on Bowen in the fall!

Chris Corrigan
