It's an intriguing and very promising piece of software! I imagine if people can get past the learning curve that it could be very effective. We know OS works after all...

We've been using the Lobby/Breakout metaphor in discussing our own Collabco platform. It's amazing how hard it can be to get people over the learning curve with Google stuff. I've found that managing account creation, or having multiple accounts with Google, is often the main blocker with folks who aren't web-savvy. But as part of an event where all participants get a supported induction to video conference, it'd be great. I think this sort of thing will get more fluid once we stop needing to rely on a backbone like Google to supply the conferencing services. There is an emerging web standard called WebRTC that will hopefully start catching on soon: http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/webrtc/basics/ With WebRTC adopted widely, we'll be able to have audio and video chat without special plugins or relying on Google, Facebook, etc. After a quick search, it looks like unhangout is open source, and they are already looking at WebRTC over Google https://the.hackpad.com/unhangout#:h=Directions Nice find John.
