Hi Lisa

Thanks for your rapid and thoughtful response.

What I shared is the client’s proposed agenda. So they added the lunch slot,
briefing, news, etc. It’s a bit more structure/formalised than I prefer, so am
interested in opinions about it.

Thanks

Stuart

Hi, Stuart - and thanks for your questions.

My thought is that you can eliminate the short briefing after lunch.
Remember: You told them the guidelines, then got out of their way. You don’t
want to break into their flow. In your introduction you can say ‘now we are
moving into our first session but you can add a topic to the wall at any time.’

My question - why do you have news and then closing - to me, news is (for
example) a report from the Newsroom Coordinator, a note about dinner / evening
activities, then on to closing comments and reflection. Could take 30 minutes
for news and announcements maybe, then an hour for Closing Circle, no? Thanks
for sharing if you have something else in mind.

By the way - depending on how you are doing documentation design, I often
create an extra 30 minutes before going into closing so folks can catch up on
transcribing / completing their notes. Other folks just chat and enjoy snacks
and such.

I love not shortening sessions to 45 minutes. If they are too short, only the
quick responders get to participate. Less so, the reflective thinkers. You want
full diversity.

I look forward to hearing my colleagues other and different thoughts and ideas,

Lisa
