The phrases mentioned so far seem to make a distinction between me/facilitator and space. Here's an alternative:
One participant came to me right after the opening, as first sessions were getting underway. She wanted to know, "what were you doing at the edge of the circle, before you stepped in and started walking around?" "What did it look like i was doing, from the outside?" "Being space." "That's what it felt like on the inside, too."
