I must resolve or abandon this, before going away tomorrow for a week. Is the OsmAnd uninstal and re-instal done to erase the unwanted and inaccessible file/s? Can I save time and complication by omitting your first step *"Copy or simply rename your "new" "/sdcard/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files*""? (The Galaxy is new to me so there is not much saved OsmAnd data, only a few Favourites which I could copy from the MotoG, and the recently installed maps) The rest of your instructions are very clear and look straightforward. :) - Thank you.
