All, As mentioned in another mail thread: OsmAnd crashes when tapping on a postcode from the POI file (not relevant for the address files). I used a "user defined" POI to create my POI file. This user defined POI type has been removed from the poi_types.xml file some months ago.
So I patched my local version of OsmAndMapCreator and added "my" POI type and created my POI postcode obf. Searching for this postcode POI works fine. However, when tapping on such a postcode POI and requesting details (3 vertical dots in the bottom-right), OsmAnd crashes as OsmAnd doesn't know this user defined POI. Yesterday evening 21 July I extended the poi_types.xml again and requested a pull request into the (shared) OsmAnd and OsmAndMapCreator code base. That has been applied. The (nightly) OsmAndMapCreator version and OsmAnd nightly/default.apk version as of 22 July 14:51 CET and later fully support the new POI file. Of course the at some time to be released 2.4 version also supports this POI file completely. So I created a new United kingdom postcode POI file today 22 July. - Searching for the postcode POI works in all OsmAnd versions - Tapping the postcode POI and requesting details (not available anyway) only works in the nightly OsmAnd versions later than 22 July 14:51. For those not willing to use nightly beta versions: You have to wait until the official OsmAnd 2.4 version is released. In the mean time I would still suggest to download the new POI file to be ready for 2.4, as my "old" July POI file will still not work with 2.4. The "old" July file has been replaced with the new July POI file.
