Hi, Some countries don't have full country maps like Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Russia, USA. Therefore you don't have a full country address map either which makes searching sometimes cumbersome. France and Italy do have a full country roads_only maps. If you do use these roads_only maps your still have a full country address map as that's inside the roads_only map (incl. POIs).
However, if you want to use the full maps, you sometimes only have regional maps, meaning only regional address maps as well. So I wrote a cross-platform (linux/windows/mac os/x) python script to allow you to very simply create these maps. A simple "(python) country_address_map.py <country>" is sufficient.
