I'm currently running OSMAnd+ 2.3.5 in Jellybean very nicely on tablet with about 63mb of app on internal storage and 2gb offline map files on microSD, updating the map files is flawless. I'm getting a new Lollipop phone, understanding that Android has restored external file access that it removed with KitKat, hoping it's at least back to Jellybean-style file access.
*1. My memory is shaky but I believe in Jellybean I manually created an "osmand" empty folder on the microSD and in settings was easily able to identify that as the storage location. The Setting for my tablet in 2.3.5 is currently under "Data Storage Folder" and I've set it to "/storage/sdcard_ext/osmand" - is it as simple as that in Lollipop?* *2. If so, I'd also like to save time by copying over the contents of my Jellybean microSD to the new phone's microSD - would that work?* (Optimally, of course, I'd like to move the whole shebang to external storage or the new "Flex" SD card storage of Marshmallow, but got too good a price for this phone, and I'm a cheapskate. My old Gingerbread phone does this beautifully for OSMand 1.9.5 but I'm putting it out to pasture.) I'd appreciate any informed advice or being steered to guidance someplace else. I've searched but haven't found up to date steps for Lollipop, as opposed to lots of trouble with KitKat.
