I just came across the "Acastus - Lookup addresses and POIs" app (Fdroid and Google Play). Rather than Nominatim it uses Mapzen's Pelias geocoder - still open-source and OSM-based, and claiming advanced autocompletion. When you tap on a result it lets you zap it over to any mapping app you have installed - it works nicely with OsmAnd. No cutting and pasting required.
The Acastus app is obviously in an early stage of development (the settings menu doesn't work for me) but seems fast and light-weight.
