The same issue occurs when attempting to select POI's to show on the map. Using the "show POI" toggle on / off also causes a freeze / black screen, before it eventually responds.
I'd renamed the OsmAnd folder before uninstall & reinstalled without changing it, to force a new OsmAnd setup, but this didn't fix it.
