What does it actually crash with (this StackOverflow entry might be useful - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3643395/how-to-get-android-crash-logs )? Does it crash when you just plug in or unplug a regular phone charger? If not, then something must be different - and perhaps broken - about the regulator you're using.
