Note that the graphical styles used for rendering features of vector maps are map independent. They are usually intended for world wide usage, unless an author does otherwise. But one can create his own style, (independent ones, or with inheritance from other ones), based on local conventions.. :-)
The same applies also on other map applications, using OSM vector maps, like LocusMap.
