As a frequent mariner I would say that this proposed "Anchor Watch" plugin would be a very useful addition to OsmAnd. Would somebody be willing to write it? - I do not have the skill or knowledge to write the code.
OsmAnd already uses proximity to trigger an alarm (eg arriving near a POI). Logic suggests that this should be reversible. It seems to require that the user would set a "Favouirite" as the centre-point. OsmAnd could then trigger an alarm when the distance from the pre-set location has been exceeded.
