Using the GPX logging button (enabled in Configure screen), I "Start GPX
logging", don't move, and a few seconds later "Stop GPX logging" and "Save
current track". All three of these actions are prompted. This is about as
minimal a "track" as you could record, but even so, I still get a tiny GPX
file of 509 bytes.

If you're not getting these prompts using this method, I'm mystified.
