I rechecked this on 3.3.7 and it seems to work the same for me as I presented it in the video <https://youtu.be/Ochj_FGge2A>. To add, say, a destination, I press the QA button, which produces an orange pointer centered about 2/3rds down the screen. I then slide the underlying map (the marker never moves) until I'm pointed at the desired location. Then I press Add destination. The technique is similar for adding a first intermediate destination, map markers and favorites.
