I stand corrected. Osmand shows bus routings even for public_transport=platform nodes. It's just that it shows old routes only :-( I am improving public_transport in a region and was having no feedback on osmand even with "Osmand live" turned on. It looks like osmand doesn't rely on "Osmand live" updates for public_transport data as I first thought, but on the monthly updates only.
