They are not linked to the profile as far as I know. I suppose they could be, like edits, but I have never seen them organized other than by coordinates. > So where did my osmand OSM notes end up? There is a notes database. They each have a number and content, which is coordinates, author, text and then comments. To see notes: on the osm website, click map layaers and enable notes. open notes are red, recently closed notes green on osmand, there is a setting to show them, under configure map, "OSM notes (online)". This will send fetch queries for the area around the map view (I think, or maybe just current location, but it seems to work fine) and load them. I think you get the same open and recently closed. in josm, there is a notes layer, which I think you have to enable explicitly.
