Hi Paul, yes, that's exactly right. I want to create a route from Lewes to Brighton centre. I'm not currently at the starting position of the route (Lewes). OSMand creates a route with the starting position being my current location, based on GPS (the suburbs of Brighton), and the destination being Brighton centre.

When you are setting up a route, Osmand seems to default to begin from "my position" [1] as the starting point.

But you should be able to touch the area of the route setup screen outlined in the black box in the attached image to set an alternate starting point other than "My Position". In your instance, you'd want to set Lewes as that starting point. [2]

[1] This default seems a reasonable choice to make for a routing app. Most people tend to use a routing app for "I am here, how do I get to *there*" uses. In that case, the "I am here" part exactly corresponds to starting from "My Position".

[2] This function is also useful for setting up a route indoors where the GPS signal is too weakened to accurately receive. "My Position" depends upon GPS supplying a "position", explicitly setting a "From" allows a route to be setup without needing any GPS reception at the time of setup.
