I can confirm that problem. I've tried "Magic Earth" which uses OSM maps, as well. It has no problems computing the route. When going by car I do prefer Magic Earth since it uses very few bandwidth and the traffic information is in real time and extremely precise. It reroutes automatically if the planned route is blocked or has a very long delay.
