He has an iPhone. Then why the discussion about Android.

I also use OsmAnd 3.13 on an iPhone 6 with iOS 12.4.5.
My iPhone 6 already has a gyroscope. In fact, the rotation of the map works 
better than on my Moto G7 with Android 10.

You have to do it as described by Max1234lta. If you see a blue triangle, your 
setting is "To Direction of Movement"
You should also set “Display position always in center” under Menu - 
Configuration Screen.
These are my preferred settings.

Osmand then behaves exactly like an outdoor device from Garmin.
