Although I perfectly understand your need and the logic, this is much
better served with tagging.

There are not enough categories in the world to give a fine grained
selection mechanism. Because then you also want a category for sites
with barbecue pits, another one for sites with hot showers. The
possibilities are indeed endless.

Tagging a POI allows you to add a cross-cutting interest, without
framing the POI in one specific, clumsy characteristic.
