I think I see the problem: the Osmand map style doesn't render abandoned
railways until you're down to 200'. I will bet that when you're using the
routing to get directions somewhere, the map style gets temporarily
switched to Osmand style rather than Topo style. I will test this the next
time I go for a drive.
