Hi Sam,

Can you please provide the full output of the Osmosis command when you try
to run it?  I still don't know what error you're encountering.  There may be
bugs in the osmosis.bat script, but until I see the error message I won't
know what they are.

The only assumption it makes is that you have a working Java 1.6
installation on your system.  No other software needs to be installed.

As for which Osmosis to download, you should never be downloading an
osmosis.jar file.  The proper download for Windows is a zip file, and
available from here:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osmosis#Latest_Stable_Version
