You should also edit your state file to reflect the reset sequence numbering.
If you're starting from the beginning of the redaction period, look at http://planet.openstreetmap.org/redaction-period/minute-replicate/000/000/001.state.txt But I'd advise against catching up from a few months ago. At this point you'd be better off downloading a recent planet and re-initiating replication from that. Also, be advised that you will need to re-initialize *again* when the licence change completes and you want to move over to an ODbL database. At this point you may want to wait for that - it won't be long (even though no one knows how long).
