I suspect that the vmix parameters become part of the driver conf file.
so that now you enable and disable vmix and set vmix params in the 
individual driver. It would be preferable if each driver controlled it's 
own vmix engine config and this way if a device needs to do 8K/8bit/mono 
it's a driver specific config rather than systemwide config.

I'll wait for Hannu to respond.
