Apologies, I sent an earlier copy of this before subscribing and it appears
to have got stuck somewhere.
Mercurial repository as of 12 June '08 on Ubuntu 8.04 laptop with ALC268.
Is it possible to configure OSS such that insertion of headphone jack will
interrupt sound to speakers?
The comments in oss_hdaudio.conf indicate that with hdaudio_jacksense enabled
jacksense may work at driver load time to disable unused i/o pins and the
associated mixer controls.
I'd like a method of dynamically detecting headphone jack insertion which
could be used to perform some action, in my case switch off sound to internal
speakers.
Not wanting to re-invent the wheel or over complicate things, but .... does
the API provide a mechanism to dynamically obtain the results of the Get Pin
Sense verb ? If so, my app could poll the i/o pin Presence Detect Status and
take appropriate action.
I should add that running snoopy either side of inserting the headphone jack
shows the Presence Detect Status bit correctly reflecting jack state.
Thanks in advance.
