Hi all, OSS v4.1 was supposed to be released around September but obviously this didn't happen. The reason is that we need to finish and test the functionality of the oss_userdev driver before releasing v4.1. Only after that we can put v4.1 in maintenance only mode and to continue the development of OSS as v4.2. Otherwise there are no reasons to delay v4.1.
The next date for v4.1-final might be in mid December or early January. Creative has released a better version of X-Fi driver. It looks like it can be converted from ALSA to OSS with reasonable amount of work. However this probably cannot be done before v4.1 is out.
