Hello,
I have run into the following problem with OSS on my linux system.

I had been running OSS 4.2_2003 but then my Linux distribution
(ArchLinux) upgraded to kernel 2.6.36 which meant OSS didn't load. A bit
of reading about online lead to me finding out that the problem with
kernel 2.6.36 was fixed in the mercurial repository. So I used the
package scripts from ArchLinux's AUR to build OSS from mercurial. This
made OSS work with kernel 2.6.36 but I then hit a problem with the
oss_envy24 module wich I need for my Terratec DMX24/96.

The problem is that when I try and load the oss_envy24 module I get a
message saying it failed because of an unknown symbol or parameter and
to see dmesg. Looking at dmesg output I find the following error message
related to this:
oss_envy24: Unknown symbol oss_timing_printf (err 0)

I upgraded to the mercurial build a week or two ago, the repository
revision I have is 920.

Let me know if you need more information to be able to fix this.

Michael Whapples
