It seems that there was somebody working on a Debian package of
OSSEC? Does anybody here know of progress on this? I'm working on
some of my own, but the install.sh stuff makes it a very large pain.
If install.sh took options much like ./configure it would make
packaging much easier.

I'm making a feeble attempt at packaging up an ebuild for gentoo.  I haven't heard anything about a debian build, but that may have been before I joined the list.

In working with the ebuild though, I'm finding that I have to take elements of the install.sh and put them in th ebuild, and not use the install.sh.  (For gentoo, and ebuild is basically a script that runs through the ./configure, make, and make install steps of a normal source instllation.)
