[ossec-list] Mysql database output

i'm tryint to enable database output using mysql but i get the following
error:
Starting OSSEC: 2007/10/13 03:32:35 ossec-maild(1230): Invalid element in
the configuration: 'database_output'.
2007/10/13 03:32:35 ossec-maild(1202): Configuration error at
'/var/ossec/etc/ossec.conf'. Exiting.
2007/10/13 03:32:35 ossec-maild(1202): Configuration error at
'/var/ossec/etc/ossec.conf'. Exiting.
                                                           [FAILED]

I copied and made changes to the following options to no avail
  <database_output>
    <hostname>192.168.2.99</hostname>
    <username>ossec_user</username>
    <password>xyz123</password>
    <database>ossecdb</database>
    <type>postgresql</type>
  </database_output>
any help will be appreciated
