Ossec makes three new users. Your login screen has these new users listed,
you can remove this. Load up kcontrol and then select System Admin->Login
Manager and tell it to hide the new users.

you also need to modify the config file, otherwise you wont get all the
protection as ossec won't be aware of firewall activity

add

>   <localfile>
>     <log_format>syslog</log_format>
>     <location>/var/log/firewall</location>
>   </localfile>
>
to /var/ossec/ossec.conf

And to avoid mistakes with the init, you need to move a link to the correct
folder. Just call:
#mv /etc/init.d/rcossec /sbin/

and then activate ossec on boot:
#chkconfig ossec 35
