I was able to download the ossec-hids source form the link in your
email and it was valid/corrupted. Did you validate the download via
the checksums file?

Are you behind a caching proxy server? Reason I ask, is that I've run
into cases where the proxy has cached part of the file (to be
downloaded) but not all of it.
