The main page is missing some sort of index to quickly navigate the pages. Categorizing the pages would be a good way to make them easier to browse without needing to use the search box. In the meantime, I propose that a link to Special:Allpages should be added to the Main Page or on the Sidebar. Concerning the categories and indexing, here is an example that I find really good from my favorite Linux distribution: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Main_Page .
