I have been playing with OSSEC agentless for a bit have some blog posts
up about, but while currently it works very well I needed something that
could take direct script input and then act as needed. I patched up
ossec-agentlessd to do just that. I should state I am NOT a C coder by
any means.

Some more details are on my blog about this and how it works:

Also was wondering is their a public svn, git, or hg repo of OSSEC? I
have been keeping my own public repo of the code on bitbucket.org for a
while now and would like to start keeping pace with HEAD.

Thanks for the great tool,
