Hi Michael, It is not safe to remove these lines from there. We keep those in there to make sure that the agent id is not reused.
Btw, I don't think the batch add script in the contrib is working properly (at least according to some reports I received). We may need to fix it or remove it from there... Thanks, -- Daniel B.
