I have done one server installation and one agent installation of ossec. In both cases the user ossec was created with a uid of 5626 and group ossec with a gid of 4067. Are these values fixed / hard-coded?
I am now looking at installing further agents using the "Install Once Copy Everywhere" method in the book. On some of our servers this UID is already in use. I would like to keep UIDs and GIDs consistent between servers. Is there any issue with using a different UID / GID? If I manually change them will they be changed back on running a subsequent OSSEC update?
