I did an agent install (using binary package under /opt/ossec directory on
Red hat Linux machine. I am getting following error when running
"manage_agents" command. Any idea?
# ./manage_agents
2010/07/23 16:07:40 manage_agents(1209): ERROR: Unable to chroot to
directory: '/var/ossec'.
As ossec does not ship any binary packages I do not know how the one you
used was built. But given that the install path hardcoded during compiling
of OSSEC my guess is that you need to install into the package standard
location.
Simple way to check: what are the contents of /etc/ossec-init.conf
