I got this working. I did not realize you had to use the "(E)xtract key for an agent" to get the key for the Windows client (for Linux, you can just copy the line from the client.keys directly).

Hello,

I have been using OSSEC for our Linux servers without issue for a few months and I just now tried to install the Windows client (2.5.1): http://www.ossec.net/files/ossec-agent-win32-2.5.1.exe

However, when I try to enter the OSSEC Server IP and Authentication key, it accepts the server IP, but it rejects the key instantly: "Unable to import authentication key. Invalid."

The key was generated on the server like all the other keys:
Add using manage_agents
/var/ossec/bin/ossec-control restart
Copy key from /var/ossec/etc/client.keys and paste into Windows client.

What I am missing?

Thanks,
Lars

Ps. Client is Windows 7(64)
