I have been trying to get the agentless monitoring with our shell account that 1 and 1. They allow a stripped down shell access. I have did all the steps on the user guide and got ssh to work correctly using the authorized_keys file. The problem I have having shows the following in the log:
2012/02/25 12:47:16 ossec-agentlessd: ERROR: ssh_generic_diff: *****@www.*******.com: Timeout while connecting to host: *****@www.*******.com I called 1 and 1 and they said the agentless monitoring probably needs admin rights, but that doesn’t sound right to me. Does someone know what sort of access rights the agentless user id would need? Also, I got the agentless working fine on a test linux system that I control so I am sure I did it correctly, but the account I used for that test was root.
