I am having an issue with the ossec windows agent during deployment testing of this application to my organization's domain. I have built both 32 bit and 64bit msi packages using the guide by following this post: http://groups.google.com/group/ossec-list/browse_thread/thread/17c3f0103f37076f
After reviewing the installation, the ossec client service fails to start and an error is posted in the client PC event log stating the ossec client is not a valid win32 application. I tried some troubleshooting steps reinstalling the ossec service posted in another thread but I still am not successful in deploying this agent. If I install the agent manually without the automated msi, everything works great. Has anyone else run into this? Is the makemsi application corrupting the ossec agent executable? Do I need to build the msi with different options? FYI, this error happens on both 32bit and 64bit machines. Thanks in advance for any advice. Steve
