Hello, thanks for the responses. 1. This is an agent install connecting to the host server.
2. I ran lsof from a 2nd shell in the server then ran ossec in another, but it gave no output. 3. I ran ossec-excecd straight from the command line rather then the start up script, and the output was the same but didn't show any of the details.
