If I have a OSSEC server running on CentOS 5.x using the 2.6 branch, and I try to set up clients on CentOS 6.x with the 2.7 branch, might I run into any problems? Do 2.6 and 2.7 play well together? Any known issues?
I was reading through http://www.ossec.net/doc/whatsnew/index.html and did not see anything suggesting I would need to port configuration files/directives. I am asking this question to hopefully avoid asking dumber questions later. I would love to upgrade everything at the same time; but given the number of servers and classes of servers, it will not be an option.
