As soon as someone cares enough to look into it. I'm guessing syslog data should work just fine, but I don't know enough about ESX to know whether you could make binaries to run on the host system. Is it running a version of linux? Could you try building the binaries on a similar linux system and moving them over (use the binary install maybe)?
