hi there, I'm currently running OSSEC version 2.7 and I'm looking into upgrading the master to 2.8 what would be the best way in doing this?
I have a self-compiled version running on RHEL 6.5, and when upgrading I would like to compile it with the maximum number of agents, i think currently it's limited to a few hundred. the most important question is: what would I need to backup? Is it wise to backup the ossec.conf? At the moment I don't have any self-defined rules or decoders, so local_rules.xml is pretty much empty. (apart from the standard definitions) At the moment I have only registered two Agents (both Linux machines). Surely I would need to backup the client.keys file? Do I need to re-register them after the upgrade? I used the rpm's from the Atomicorp Repository, shall I upgrade the agents as well, or will I run into compatibility issues if they stay on 2.7? Of course I would also backup the logs and stats directories, so that I wouldn't lose all my collected data.... many thanks in advance, theresa -- --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ossec-list" group.
